Sweethearts of Swing

Last week I subbed for an Andrew's Sisters gig on the U.S.S. Midway - a retired aircraft carrier that is now docked in San Diego. Dapper private party, good food on the breaks, and swingin' tunes with my fun friends!

San Diego Wedding Singers

I am part of a group called the San Diego Wedding Singers. We specialize in singing 5-part, a capella arrangements for weddings and events. As active music professionals, we also have the ability to coordinate with other musicians and groups to provide a variety of options for any event. The recordings of "Fever" and "Seasons of Love" in my tunz are some examples of our sound. Check us out at: www.sandiegoweddingsingers.com

Friends of Patty-Cat & Kittle

I recently was able to be part of a recording project that is now being released on cd. "Friends of Patty-Cat & Kittle" by Barbara Cefalu is available at http://www.digstation.com/ArtistAlbums.aspx?artistname=friendsofpattycatandkittle and will soon be available at Amazon and CDBaby.

The cd has a collection of songs based on a series of children's stories, also by Barbara Cefalu. It was truly a pleasure to work on this project with Barbara and many of my talented friends.

Enjoy! xo

Fabulous Friend!

This is my fabulous friend and colleague, Skyler!

Most recently, he included me in a recording project for a children's book that he was producing (and performing in).

Yeah for Sapporo and Sushi!

Rockin' Cranberries!

I get to spend a lot of time at Sea World during the holidays as a singer.

This year I designed and made new costumes for the Rockin' Cranberries. Fun!

Short Bio

Leah has been singing her whole life. She grew up in a musical family and had many opportunities to sing at home, church, and school. In college, she studied vocal performance and piano at Fullerton College, Cal State Long Beach, and Eastern New Mexico University. She finished summa cum laud with a B.M. in Vocal Performance with a minor in Piano. An avid performer, Leah participated in various productions with each University, was a frequent guest soloist with jazz bands and choruses, and worked as a professional swing dancer. Trained as a coloratura soprano, her solid classical technique has allowed her to achieve success in a variety of music styles from classical, to jazz, to rock and roll. With her flexible voice, Leah continues to enjoy a wide range of music by teaching voice lessons, recording character voices, and singing with jazz groups, cover bands, Full Measure Carolers, San Diego Lyric Opera, and the Bach Collegium. She has also toured through Europe and China. Currently, you can find her in venues from St. Peter’s Cathedral to the Ritz in Del Mar, center stage at Sea World to behind the piano at the local Kindergarten. Many thanks and hugs go out to her family and friends who show continual support for her musical endeavors.

- “Music is the language of emotion. Whether I’m performing or attending, I always experience a unique connection with the audience and musicians.” - Leah Bentley
